Kaimahi Spotlight: Tereeza Kira
(Whakaakoako)
20 / 11 / 2024
One of the core values we uphold at He Waka Tapu is Whakaakoako, which emphasizes the importance of learning and growth for both our Kaimahi and anyone working in the healing space. By developing our skills, we can continue to improve the work we do, and better support whānau in need.
Whakaakoako!
With that in mind, lets take a moment to acknowledge the achievements of our very own Tereeza Kira, who has recently completed a New Zealand Diploma in Whānau Ora through TIPU ORA!
This milestone marks her third consecutive year of study. Despite the challenges of balancing a demanding workload here at mahi and navigating personal obstacles, she managed to complete a year’s worth of study in just 10 months — a remarkable accomplishment for our lead facilitator in the mandated space!
The qualification required over 1,200 hours of learning, including a mix of face-to-face wānanga, online learning, and self-directed study.
When asked for advice for anyone considering study, Tereeza shared:
"If you truly have a passion for this space, study is the way to go!"
Congratulations, e hoa! Your dedication to both your mahi and your studies is truly inspiring to us all.
