CCC Childrens Day 2025

(Community Support / Networking)

4 / 3 / 2025

On Sunday 2nd March a small crew of kaimahi braved the heat to attend Christchurch City Council’s Children’s Day, across the road at Cuthberts Green. This is an annual FREE event, that brings the community together for a vast array of free entertainment and activities and an opportunity to engage with the many great organisations offering services and support for tamariki , rangatahi and whānau in Ōtautahi.

Engaging With The Community!

Our humble stall engaged with many hot, smiley faces throughout the day. We handed out around 280 bubble wands to some very happy tamariki, stamped moko onto faces and let the community know about our services and the tamariki immunisation programme.

Our two free competitions were extremely popular, and it was not often that we didn’t have a line outside our gazebo. Congratulations to Amrit Kaur, who was one of 204 people to fill in our “Guess the grocery hamper amount” and came within 0.84cents to win the prize. Also, congratulations to Nicole Payne, who won our “Guess the pencils in the jar” competition who will take away all the pencils and colouring books!!

Ngā mihi nui again to Zach, Kathleen, Alisha, Rhiannan, Jaden, Dominique and Melanie for bringing your energy and smiles to yesterdays event and special mention for your efficiency in pack down, you all ROCK!!
