OMA OMA (RUNNING GROUP)

Image

Oma Oma is our running open group that unites both kaimahi and whaiora in the spirit of health, wellbeing and having fun. Every Thursday lunchtime members of our hapori gather to take part in a 3km run or walk around the eastside in preparation for this years Pae Ora event.

Groups are designed to strengthen your hauora and aim to:

  • Declutter your headspace
  • Build your connections within hapori
  • Strengthen your Tinana
  • Support practical everyday living

After a few sessions, you might be ready to address the heavy stuff and request a referral to a programme, or you may find you have learned other ways to gain an understanding of the behaviours that are causing negativity in your life.

Te Whare Tapa Whā

Te Whare Tapa Whā, created by Sir Mason Durie, presents health and wellbeing as a wharenui/ meeting house with four walls: taha wairua - spiritual, Taha hinengraro - mental/emotional, taha tinana - physical, and taha whānau - family/social wellbeing.

Additionally taha whenua - connection to the land forms its foundation. Balancing these dimensions is crucial for overall wellness.
